About MGT

By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
Psalm 33:6 (KJV)
We are a bible-believing, enthusiastically worshiping, praying-without-ceasing body of Christ followers! We gather often, support and pray for each other, and we find joy in praising the lord!
We are an Elim Fellowship affiliated church.

Myrtle Gospel Tabernacle was founded in 1932 at its present location on farmland donated to C.O. Dickinson. Pastor Dickinson was a man of prayer who was known to spend four to five hours a day “thundering” in prayer.

Myrtle is the oldest pentecostal church in this area and gave birth to other such churches in surrounding communities. In 1972, a graduate of Elim Bible Institute, Lou Goszleth assumed the pastorate at Myrtle alongside his wife Thelma. After several months without growth God spoke 'you preach the word and I will send them in.' By 1976 growth necessitated a new building which was completed and dedicated in 1977. By 1980 the sanctuary was enlarged to hold 325 and included offices and classrooms for a Christian school. Sunday mornings saw 350 – 400 people show up in the 'cow pasture' with services that extended well into the afternoon. Most of them returned on Sunday evenings. '82 saw a church plant for the Ulysess area and in '83 the Olean group was sent out to start Mt Zion Christian Assembly. Over the next decades Myrtle had experienced a decline in numbers, but maintained its' zeal and spirit.

At its zenith Myrtle was known for an abiding sense of His presence, especially in praise and worship. That presence is still there and makes the Glory known through the various times of worship and prayer.

In addition to Sunday morning and Wednesday night, Myrtle is home to Monday night Healing Place, a ministry outreach vision of Ron MacDonald.

Whether you attend services here or not please join us in interceding to God the Father for our land. It is not beyond His strength or will to 'heal our land' as we look forward to the return of His only begotten, Jesus Christ, our coming King.
